This is a 2-page song, so you put the holes in the middle and have both pages open. But how have you found it to work best for songs with more than 2 pages?
Hey Chris, I found you. lol. I scotch tape pages 2 and 3 together, fold them and then 3-ring punch them. My adult students don't like to turn pages, so they take page 3 out of the rings and spread out the copies. Hope this makes sense. If not, let me know and I'll take some pictures and post them. Sometimes a pictures worth . . . you know. . .
Totally understand this question from personal experience. Move forward with the pulse of the majority of the group. Always reassuring everyone to play at their comfort level - RH only, LH only, etc. One of my students yesterday said that she relaxes when I say, "This time through, just grab as many notes as you can." I've learned the hard way (lost 2 classes) slowing the pace too much. Reassure this "one" student that playing 1 hand or the other in class is just fine. I've seen these students grow and shine when the pace is increased. Hope this helps. Let me know how this turns out for you in your class.
She has said that she thinks she needs to "start over", so when I have new people starting in January, I am thinking I will give her that choice to start over with them, and this time we will go at the pace the group desires. it is hard because she is so vocal! She always wanted the other person playing exactly the same thing so she could look at them. Maybe a private lesson for her?...
Thanks, Will. That does help. So for a 5-pager like Rock On!, pgs 2 & 3 and 4 & 5 would be taped and punched? Do you put anything on the other side of pg 1? I am so excited about these songs. I printed them all out and got the mp3 SLOW & MIDI files for each on a jump drive, and onto my main keyboard. Seems to me the easiest one is Forbidden City. Do you concur? Perhaps then Roxbury. I am looking at Coaster for a Spring Music Part group project... My girl who has been in WCK has gone through JAzz Hands, but can't reach the LH 7th & octave. In January she will join a 9 y-o in K4K. They played together on UK Bell Carol, and it was the hit of my Winter Music Party!

DeleteWill, I have found myself slowing down the pace of my groups too much for just one student, and frustrating the others. What should I do instead?
